Primary level in 2022

  1. Emanuel (Green Angels Academy)

Emanuel joined class eight in January 2022. He sat for KCPE and scored 332 points out of a possible 500. This enabled him to join form one at Aquinas High school in January 2023. He is passionate about studies and is likely to excel in academia. 

His mother operates different businesses for survival on part time basis and works in a wines and spirits outlet. 

Secondary school students in 2022

  1. Nicole (Huruma Girls’ High school)

Nicole was in form three in 2022 and will be sitting for KCSE in Dec. 2023. She is above average student with the potential to make it to the university if she puts a little effort. This we have discussed with her, and she remains positive as she aims towards her goal. She is a niece to Emanuel, and they are both under the care of a single mother.

  1. Sprewell (Chianda Boys High school)

Sprewell was also in form three in 2022 and joined form four in 2023. He is so determined to join university come September 2024. His grades have been encouraging and we hope he’ll achieve his dreams.

His mother, Naomi still operates her small businesses which are a source of livelihood for the family. His father often finds casual jobs around and he if doesn’t find any, he helps in the family business. Family income is about kshs. 25,000 per month which they try to spread between education for the rest of the children, food, and other family needs.

College students:

  1. June (Maseno University)

June completed his first year in the above university and started second year which ends in September 2023. He remains steadfast and is posting good grades in actuarial science course. A second born in a family of four, he’s such a role model to his other siblings who are also in school. His parents have worked jointly to ensure that all their children access basic education.

 His mother runs different small businesses which she changes from time to time. June’s father also makes contributions towards family upkeep through his mechanical jobs and this has made it possible for them to educate the rest of the children in the family. Average family income is kshs. 30,000 per month.

  1. Mitchell (RVIST)

Mitchel was in the first year of her study of business information technology in 2022. Her performance is good as she proceeds to year two. She is determined to complete studies, find a job, and assist their other siblings who are struggling with matters of school fees. Her mother operates different small businesses to fend for the family while her father gets casual jobs which adds to family income. The average family income is kshs.25, 000 per month.

6. Yvonne Njeri (Multimedia University)

Yvonne completed year two of her study in mass communication in 2022 and will complete her course in 2023. She has been posting good grades and is hopeful to find a job in the media industry once she completes the course. 

Her mother runs different small businesses for family upkeep while the father occasionally finds casual jobs. This has enabled them to take other children to school and provide other basic needs for the family. Average family income is kshs. 30,000 per month.  

7. Jerry (Kenyatta University)

Jerry was in the second year of his course in information science at the above university in 2022. He is progressing well in his studies and will complete in 2024. He’s an exemplary performer who is admired beyond the family. 

His mother still operates a general merchandise business. Most of her products are textile and cutlery mainly for the low-income group. Average income from business activities is kshs.25, 000 per month. His father often helps in the business whenever he lacks alternative engagement.

8. Felix (JOOUST)

 Felix was in the third year of his study in 2022 and will complete in 2023. He is steadfast and hopeful that he will find gainful employment in the information technology sector. Quite focused and ambitious, we only wish him the very best.

His mother runs food business; selling both cooked food and grocery depending on what is in demand. She constantly diversifies products to attract and sustain customers. She earns an average income of kshs.30, 000 per month.

9. Kate (Moi University college)

Kate continued taking her diploma course in business management in 2022 and went for internship for three months within the year. She will complete her studies in Sep/2023. She looks forward to better things in the coming years. Kate’s mother still operates small businesses among them vegetables and fruits. She alternates products depending on what is in demand since most of the businesses are still struggling. Income from business activities is currently kshs.20, 000 per month.

10. Kelly (Nairobi University): 

Kelly completed his course in business management in Dec/2022. He will go for internship for three months within the first quarter of 2023 before he embarks on job search. His performance has been satisfactory, and he looks forward to getting good results. 

His mother is involved in a wide range of businesses based on what is in demand at different times. The businesses include vegetables secondhand clothes, and general merchandize. Income from the business is subsidized by earnings from his father who does casual jobs. Average income for family upkeep is hshs.25, 000 per month.

11. Brian (Moi University) 

Brian Emmanuel also completed his course in December 2022. He is hopeful to find a job in his line of study which is renewable energy technology management but is equally open to any opportunity which may come up first.

Brian’s mother runs a grocery shop for family upkeep. Her average income from the businesses is kshs.25,000 per month. His father does all kinds of jobs which come his way to contribute towards family income. Whenever the jobs are not available for him, they all work in the business.

12. Felix (Rift valley technical college) 

Felix completed classwork in September 2022 and proceeded on attachment as from November/022. He will finish in January/023 and hopefully find some gainful employment to help towards school fees for other siblings in the family. 

Felix’s mother sells vegetables and fruits among other businesses for their daily livelihood. She earns an average of kshs.25, 000 per month. 

13. Brian (JKUAT)

Brian was in third year in 2022 and will complete his study in 2023. A degree student in architecture and building sciences-real estate; he’s hopeful of getting good grades and opportunities once he completes his study. His parents are optimistic too and hope he will be able to contribute towards the education of their siblings once he gets economically placed. 

His mother sells second hand clothes and incorporates new cloths which she buys from wholesale traders in Nairobi. The father helps the wife in the business most of the time. Average income from these businesses is kshs. 30,000 per month.
